Hotel star rating:
You’ll love the excellent facilities in the Bajondillo self-catering apartment complex. Perhaps even more you’ll love the short stroll to one of Torremolinos’ famous beaches and being on the doorstep of the exciting resort centre.
With a real sense of space and excellently furnished, the rooms in Bajondillo are fantastic quality and make the complex a real favourite with families. There’s plenty to keep guests happy without even making the 25m walk to the beach. There is a restaurant and bar on site, with entertainment in the evenings – expect plenty of flamenco! – and a decent-sized pool in the complex’s grounds with sun loungers and shades. Free Wi-Fi will keep your jealous friends at home up-to-date on your holiday.
When you do want to explore you don’t have far to go to get started. Either pop over to the beach for sun-bathing or excellent water sports activities, or walk around 500m to the town centre.
Torremolinos is a busy and bustling resort with an enormous amount to do. And it’s probably a more sophisticated and genuinely Spanish place than it’s sometimes been given credit for. The Bajondillo apartments are just around the corner from the steps up to the Old Town, which will give you a real taste of the traditional side of a town that has played an important role in Spanish history since the 15th century. The Banjodillo area is the town’s former fishing centre, and it still has excellent seafood restaurants.
There’s fantastic shopping the main drag, the Calle San Miguel, and an excellent programme of city gardening keeps the atmosphere green and tranquil wherever you go.
The easiest way to get around is to stroll along the seafront promenade that links the 7km of beaches. The neighbouring resort of Benalmadena is easy to reach and its marina is the perfect place to book a day on the sea, while the town is full of family-friendly attractions.
Malaga, the regional capital, is a short, cheap journey away by underground railway and offers a host of cultural, entertainment and dining experiences. Travel the other way to check out Fuengirola, perhaps the Costa del Sol’s other biggest and best resort.
Brilliant value, brilliant fun, and a brilliant location make Bajondillo a wonderful place to get your shot of sunshine this year in one of the most interesting areas of Torremolinos and with easy access to the rest of this super-exciting resort.
