Apartments Veramar

With lots of extras for a budget apartment complex, the Veramar Apartments puts visitors right at the heart of Fuengirola with its 6km of sandy beaches, lively resort life and bags of local character.

This 136-unit self-catering complex offers fantastic value for a location that’s within a short walk of both the beach and the main resort strip, with the nearby castle as a reminder that Fuengirola has a long history and some good historic sites to explore.

With gardens, a terrace, and an outdoor, year-round pool there’s plenty to entertain guests at the Veramar Apartments. The complex is self-catering but has a bar that serves food. Wi-Fi access is free.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, with family rooms, studio- (for up to three guests) and one-bedroomed apartments (can sleep four) to choose from. The facilities differ slightly by room type. Family rooms do not have a full kitchenette, with just a fridge and a microwave. The rooms are regularly serviced, with cleaners calling in four times a week, towels changed every three days, and linen on every fifth day.

Reception is on-call 24-hours-a-day, and there’s a good selection of stores on-site, including a supermarket, luggage store, pharmacy and barbers. There is parking at the complex, and the Veramar Apartments are accessible for disabled visitors.

Fuengirola is one of the most popular of the Costa del Sol resorts, lying between exciting, cosmopolitan Malaga and ritzy Marbella. The traditional fishing village of Mijas is a short journey away and is a popular day trip. Nearby Benalmadena is home to an elegant casino, a smart marina and the Tivoli World theme park.

The beaches are probably why you’re looking at a Fuengirola holiday. There are seven of them, linked by Spain’s longest sea-front promenade, all 7km of it. The sands themselves are broad and spacious, with a great line-up of fish restaurants along the front.

There’s loads to do in the town itself, and the Parque Miramar Shopping Centre doubles as a dining, entertainment and kids’ venue.
