Things to do in San Antonio Bay
For a small town, San Antonio Bay punches above its weight when it comes to things to do and see. From taking the ferry to nearby coves, to tucking into some delicious tapas as the sun goes down, you'll be spoilt for choice when you visit San Antonio Bay. Despite its reputation as being exclusively a party destination, Ibiza is actually home to some of the most wonderful attractions. The old town in Ibiza, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must-see for anyone visiting this beautiful island. Start in the main square and from there you can explore the maze of streets and alleyways which lead off in all directions. Also located in the old town is the famous Ibiza castle. The castle combines 12th-century and Islamic architecture, and sits atop the town's biggest hill which offers visitors panoramic views of the medieval town below. Es Vedra Island lies just off the coast of Ibiza and is a perfect day trip. It's uninhabited and thus remains totally unspoiled.
San Antonio Bay beaches
San Antonio Bay and its beach are known across the world for being one of the epicentres of nightlife and clubbing. For hundreds of years, the town was nothing more than a small quaint fishing village, but today it prevails as Europe's premier partying destination. The beach is a very lively destination and is very popular with those looking to paraglide, bungee jump and participate in other watersports. The west end of the beach is famous for its collection of bars and clubs, where many of the people visiting the area like to spend their evenings. Most of the establishments are open from around 2pm, and stay open until the early hours of the morning. The sunsets from the beach are also considered to be some of the most beautiful in region. Many bars such as Café Mambo and Café del Mar are famous for their views, which are best enjoyed at dusk. If you're looking for a beach away from the crowds, then there are many less populated areas of the island. You can reach the beaches by either using the fantastic public transport system or hiring a car when you arrive.
