Praia da Luz holidays are ideal for those who are interested in the history and heritage of this town as they make for some of the most popular attractions. The ruins of the roman baths can be visited just behind the promenade and are said to have been built between the 3rd and 5th Century AD. They were discovered during construction before the area became a popular resort, however the builders were careful enough to work around them. While we wouldn’t advise any bathing here, they truly are something to look at and are a fantastic piece of history!
Journey into Lagos to visit the Antonine Museum to see the church of Santo Antonio. According to legend, Saint Antony of Lisbon was born here before the church was built. The statue of Prince Henry can be seen here as well as the former slave market. Have your camera at the ready so you can take your memories home!
As you may already know, Portugal is famous for its chicken dishes. You can’t go anywhere without seeing a picture of one!
