You can’t book Playa Blanca breaks without planning some beach time! The resort town has three beautiful beaches which are connected via a seven kilometre promenade.
If retail therapy is essential on your getaways, visit Marina Rubicon. The glitzy waterfront district is packed with chic clothing stores and some of the best eateries in Playa Blanca. It’s also the departure point for catamaran trips to Papagayo beach and Fuerteventura.
Museo Atlantico is a must-see in Playa Blanca! The first attraction of its kind in Europe, it’ll see you diving under the sea to admire numerous beautiful sculptures.
Playa Blanca puts you within easy reach of Lanzarote’s most spectacular coastline. Costa de Papagayo sits within a national park and features pristine beaches free from hotels.

It’s not just volcano craters which you can explore in Playa Blanca! The Cueva de los Verdes (Green Caves) were formed by lava flows 4,000 years ago. Why not explore over two kilometres of excavated tunnels with a guide?
Hiking is one of the best ways to soak up the dramatic scenery around Playa Blanca. There’s plenty of volcano peaks with epic viewpoints. You could also walk along the coast to Papagayo.
A must-see on Playa Blanca holidays is the Volcano Natural Park. It’s one of Lanzarote’s top attractions and where you’ll be able to get up close to numerous active volcanoes.

The resort’s namesake beach, Playa Blanca, is a great pick for sunbathing and swimming. It’s also fringed by numerous bars and restaurants ideal for drinks or lunch with sea views.
Papagayo is one of the most famous stretches of coastline in Lanzarote and only 20 minutes from Playa Blanca. It’s made up of several beaches, but Playa de Papagayo is the most popular.
Playa Mujeres is located just north of Playa de Papagayo. Offering over three kilometres of soft white sand, it’s a paradise for those after a little peace and quiet.
If you’ve hired a car, drive beyond Papagayo to Playa Caleta del Congrio. The south facing beach is always bathed in sunlight and, due to its remoteness, popular with nudists.
More of a beach to stroll along than sit on, Playa de Janubio is an easy 10 minute drive from Playa Blanca. Behind it is Laguna di Janubio - an emerald-hued saltwater lagoon.

Whether you’re after beaches surrounded by amenities or somewhere calm enough for tots to paddle, you’ll find loads of family-friendly options in Playa Blanca.

Stroll just ten minutes east of Playa Blanca’s main beach and you’ll hit Playa Dorada. Hire sunbeds for a small fee and snorkel in crystal-clear water. There’s also pedalos and banana boat rides if you fancy a family adventure out on the water.
Playa Flamingo is probably Playa Blanca’s second most popular beach. It’s at the western end of the resort and backed by coffee shops, cafes and snack bars.
Another picture-perfect beach on the Papagayo coastline is Playa del Pozo. Its golden sand is perfect for sandcastle building, plus you’ll see lots while snorkelling in its transparent waters.
Playa de la Cera sits just around the headland from Playa de Papagayo and is usually much quieter. The water feels like a bath in the summer months, plus the sunsets are glorious.
There’s several Playa Blancas in the Canary Islands - not just the one in Playa Blanca itself! If you fancy a day out in bustling Puerto del Carmen, its very own Playa Blanca is a brilliant place for a refreshing swim.
