The Riu Playacar is steps away from a white-sand beach. And a 15-minute taxi ride gets you to the bars, clubs and shops along Playa del Carmen’s famous 5th Avenue.
The hotel mixes authentic looks with international touches like Asian cooking. As for pools, there’s one with a swim-up bar.
There are watersports down at the beach, with windsurfing, catamarans and kayaks on offer. Or you could take advantage of the introductory scuba diving lesson back at the pool. Tennis, boules and volleyball are also available.

Hello, Yes the hotel will be closed during summer 2015 and is planned to re-open mid October 2015. Regards
