The Pico de la Zarza mountain is one of the main attractions here and, at around 807m, is also the highest point of Fuerteventura. You can actually climb the slopes of the Pico de la Zarza mountain range to see for yourself the stunning views of the island. Be sure to take plenty of water, food and sun cream - this hike takes around five hours and there isn’t much shade! The walk is absolutely worth it if you want to see nature at its best. The vivid flora and tiny green lizards are a wonderful sight when stopping to take a breather.
The town of Playa de Sotavento is just a 20-minute drive from Jandia and, once a year, a windsurfing and kitesurfing competition is held here. This competition is packed with spectators so why not join them? The promenade is lined with some great little cafes and bars where you can stop for a bite to eat away from the heat of the day.
