Situated on the east coast of Menorca in the Balearics the historic town of Es Castell is the ideal getaway for your summer holiday. Located near to the island's capital of Mahon, this beach resort offers excellent shopping opportunities and a great range of water sport activities. So book your trip to Es Castell now!
Located on the mouth of the Port of Mahon, which is the entrance to the island's capital of Mahon, Es Castell is a beautiful town with lots of history and fantastic architecture. Admire the elegant Georgian buildings and the town hall in the main square and then visit the Menorca Military Museum, which is a great place to take the kids. If you are looking to do a spot of shopping on your holiday, there are plenty of shops lining the streets for you to choose from.
Further afield, visit Mahon, where you can check out the 17th century Baroque church, see the picturesque town of Ciutadella or head to the prehistoric village of Trepuco. Es Castell is also within easy reach of the Aqua Centre Water Park for a fun day out with the kids. There are also many excellent restaurants to try, with something to suit all tastes and budgets.
Closest to the resort is a rocky inlet called Cala Padera (around a 15 minutes walk), which is a great place to go swimming, but if you’re after a great beach, Punta Prima and Cala Alcaufar are the places to head. Just 20 minutes from the town, these sandy beaches are the perfect place to go with your family. With soft golden sands that gently shelve in to the water, they provide a safe environment for children and, if you want to try your hand at some water sports, simply head over to the harbour.
