The CHC Athina Palace is a 5-star Resort & Spa situated in a hilly, secluded location, close to Mades, a small fishing village. If you’re looking for peaceful beaches and all-inclusive relaxation (with a good choice of pools and spa facilities) then CHC Athina Palace is for you.
There’s 3 pools to choose from, divided up into different sections for whatever your mood: splashing around, relaxing, or for children. The children’s pool is supervised both by an animation team and life guards! After lounging by the pool you can head to the CHC Athina’s main restaurant which serves local tastes and international cuisine. There’s great views from both its outdoor terrace and through the large windows of its indoor eating area. If you want to burn off some of that tasty food, there’s a fitness center on site and several sporting facilities, including tennis courts, basketball courts and a games area.
The CHC Athina Palace has its own private beach down some steps, but if you want to explore the local area Ligaria Beach is a perfect place to start. It’s a quiet beach with a beautiful mix of sand and small pebbles leading down to a clear sea. Great for a swim or a sunbathe, Ligaria Beach should be at the top of your list. Further up the coast is Agia Pelagia Beach which boasts great, soft sand. For a day-trip you can visit the historical city of Heraklion, where you can find all sorts of bars, restaurants and museums. It’s about 7 miles away.
