If the beach on your doorstep is item number one on your holiday wish-list, then Pergamos Village, a pretty, greenery-fringed, self-catering complex in sunny Kolymbari is sure to hit the spot. Sitting on the popular north coast of Crete, Kolymbari has lots of cultural, historic and natural attractions, and great access to the popular resort of Platanias or busy Chania just down the coast.
This small, 3-star family-run complex has just 27 studios and apartments on site, so you’ll enjoy plenty of space and privacy. Flowers and palm trees line the paths and a sizeable pool, where you can not only enjoy a dip but also your favourite drink from the pool-side bar and snack bar. There’s plenty of room to spread out in your apartment too. All units have a kitchenette with a small fridge, a hob, and a kettle, their own balconies, TV, air-conditioning, and private bathroom and showers.
You’ll save staying in Pergamos Village too, which is excellent value for this part of Crete, and especially good value early or late in the season, when the Cretan weather is possibly at its best.
Kolymbari has a big pebble beach that’s just a short walk from your door in Pergamos Village. The popular sandy beaches at Platanias are just down the road. You’ll find plenty of dining and drinking options there too, though this part of the coast doesn’t have the wild partying that some parts of the island do, and is a great family location.
Some of the most popular local attractions are olive oil and wine producers, who open up to the public for tastings and tours. Hiking or horse riding along the coast are also popular, and the ports at Platanias and Chania have boat tours that showcase the beautiful wild shoreline. Chania is a short drive away, and you’ll love wandering around its historic old town and harbour, eating in classic sea-front tavernas, or checking out some good local museums.
Pergamos Village is a brilliant value way to enjoy the sunshine and exciting local attractions of this unique part of the most distinctive Greek island.
Make yourself at home in one of the 33 air-conditioned rooms featuring kitchenettes with refrigerators and stovetops. Rooms have private furnished balconies. Conveniences include safes and electric kettles, and housekeeping is provided on weekdays only.
Easy to get a car hire and explore Chania Town and the famous lighthouse, or visit the port and watch the boats go by.
