Candolim Beach boasts 8 kilometres of light, soft sand, with palm trees and sand dunes providing the backdrop as you listen to the glistening waves lap the shore. Active beach-goers will enjoy the many water sports on offer here, while those who love shopping can bargain from the comfort of their lounger. For a livelier beach scene head up the coast to nearby Calangute Beach where the pink-tinged sands are complimented by an array of beach bars, water sports, and a vibrant beach party atmosphere. There are some fabulous beachfront bars perfect for watching the beautiful Indian sunsets with a cool drink in hand, while several other clubs boast dance floors amidst historic sites, delicious cocktails and excellent DJs. If you prefer to test lady luck while on holiday there is also a casino serving drinks from the bar and offering numerous card tables as well as machines. That said, Candolim is more peaceful than some of the neighbouring areas, so it is well worth exploring vibrant Calangute just up the coast, or taking a trip into the capital Panaji for a wild night on the town before recuperating on your little slice of paradise.

Although Candolim is a small, sleepy Goan village you’ll find plenty of activities to keep you busy during your stay here. The beach offers a range of water sports, or you could explore the tropical underwater world of the sea and enjoy a snorkelling or scuba diving trip. The bars and clubs will keep you active during the evening, or you could wander through the streets and along the beach, stopping off in the bars and restaurants along the way. Haggling for some of the amazing items sold in the shops is always an adventure in Goa as well!

Holidays to Candolim are filled with culture and history, whether you prefer to simply chat to locals and learn the area’s stories or you’re looking to explore the sights and attractions of the area.  The Viceroy’s Arch will take you back to the Portuguese invasion of India, while the Cabo Palace is set in the hills and surrounded by stunning tropical trees and foliage, offering beautiful beach views and pretty, whitewashed architecture. The Church of Our Lady of Hope provides an insight into the culture and architecture of the area as does the striking Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort complete with lighthouse which stands proudly on Sinquerim Beach and overlooks the Arabian Sea. Traditional culture is also best observed in the local markets and engaging with the locals, and Candolim is excellently located for further exploration of this part of India. Hop on one of the boat tours and explore the nearby towns and coastline or take a bus into the collage of culture that is Panaji.
