For anyone wanting to explore a little more of Menorca, a trip to Ciutadella, with the port and old town, is a culturally rewarding day out. You can visit the lovely Ciutadella cathedral and take a walk around the scenic arches full of shops and cafés. Ciutadella is less than a 10-minute drive from Cala Santandria.

To get a true taste of life in Menorca, you should make sure you get to one of the island's fiestas, which happen all through the summer between June and September. Concerts are regularly held around Menorca, often as part of multi-venue music festivals. You'll find a number take place in the charming Ciutadella. The Festival de Musica de Mao is a series of classical concerts featuring musicians both local and international, with some famous names. Dance and theatre performances are often part of the festival. 

A boat tour is a wonderful way to see Menorca in all its natural beauty, and there are plenty of boat tour companies who can take you on a scenic cruise around the coast. A walking tour can also show you some of the island’s historic sites and buildings, especially in the historic capital of Ciutadella. The Aqua Centre Water Park, close to Cala'n Blanes outside of Ciutadella, is great for kids, with big colourful slides and safe pools for swimming. There are also places for you to relax and enjoy the glorious sunshine while you watch your kids have fun.

Cala Santandria beach is the main reason holidaymakers come to the resort, and it’s a very pleasant place to spend a week or two sunbathing, swimming and drinking at beach bars. Further north lies the small beach of Sa Caleta, a pristine and surprisingly narrow beach, perfect for an alternative to the main beach in Cala Santandria.

There are also scuba diving companies who can give new divers and experienced divers alike the chance to get up close with some of the local marine life, with equipment and training available as well as boats out to the best spots.
