For anyone wanting to explore a little more of Menorca, a trip to Ciutadella, with the port and old town, is a culturally rewarding day out. You can visit the lovely Ciutadella cathedral and take a walk around the scenic arches full of shops and cafés. Ciutadella is less than a 10-minute drive from Cala Santandria.
To get a true taste of life in Menorca, you should make sure you get to one of the island's fiestas, which happen all through the summer between June and September. Concerts are regularly held around Menorca, often as part of multi-venue music festivals. You'll find a number take place in the charming Ciutadella. The Festival de Musica de Mao is a series of classical concerts featuring musicians both local and international, with some famous names.
