When to go
As Austria is home to both urban and rural areas, the best time of year to visit depends on where you’ll be visiting. Generally, Austria pulls in tourists during two different seasons, the summer and the winter. Summers in Austria are generally quite warm, so, the mountain resorts attract summer hikers and the cities attract those preferring great weather to sightsee. The winter is yet another fantastic time to go on a holiday to Austria for a couple of reasons. Firstly, those looking for a winter sports adventure can rely on Austria’s ski resorts to be covered in snow from around November until April. Secondly, Vienna has some of the best Christmas markets in Europe, making it an attractive choice for many travellers. Aside from that, winter can be quite a wet and cold time to head to the country.
