Your guide to Arrecife holidays
Warm almost all year round, with blue skies and not a cloud in sight, holidays to Arrecife are perfect for those who love the beach. The black and golden sands of the three volcanic beaches reflect the heat, while the cool waters of the sea are perfect for a quick dip when you need to cool off. Beneath the waters you’ll find volcanic reefs just waiting to be explored. Playa El Reducto Beach is one of the most popular on Lanzarote, combining soft sands and calm waters with a marvellous array of beachfront services. If you prefer to keep your holidays on dry land there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as shopping outlets so you can pick up a bargain or two. If you’re feeling more active try out some of the water sports and activities, as well as inland adventures and historic tours of this former fishing village. Arrecife is also themain port of the island making it possible to catch a Ferry to other islands like Tenerife.
There are not one but three beaches to choose from on your Arrecife holidays. Playa El Reducto consists of fine white sands where you can simply unwind and watch the world go by, with plenty of space so you don’t need to worry about fighting for a lounger. The waters are calm and perfect for paddling little ones, while there are also plenty of restaurants and other facilities along the boardwalk. El Cable Beach offers golden sands and a peaceful, secluded day in the water or stretched out on a lounger. With a little extra distance from the centre of town this is a great choice for those who like to escape the crowds. If you prefer to witness Lanzarote’s famous black volcanic sands La Concha Beach is perfect. Although a bit of a treck from most of the Arracife buzz, you’ll find a picturesque stretch of sand ideal for a day spent lazing in the Lanzarote sun.
