Alikanas is a traditional seaside village located in the north-eastern part of Zante, next to Alykes village. As well as being an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday for families or couples, Alikanas is also a village of great archaeological interest; with many excavations here turning up some ancient and priceless vessel. These findings together with some others from the surrounding area led scientists to believe that the ancient city of Arcadia was situated here.
But even if you’re not a history buff, you’ll still find many activities and sights to keep you occupied. Alikanas maintains its traditional Greek character amongst a plethora of lush olive groves and vineyards. The resort is ideal for hiking, cycling or even horse-riding. You can also visit Vertzagio Agricultural Museum or perhaps just kick back, relax and try the copious amounts of amazing food and drink this little village has to offer.
