Alghero doesn't fail to impress with its range of attractions. With a beauty so appealing you’ll be greeted by non-stop excitement around every corner. Visit Alghero's Golden Sea Walls known as a highlight of the town's historic culture and admire the Alghero Roman Catholic Cathedral providing you with tours and delightful views from the bell tower. You can explore the depths of the Alghero caverns and caves in Capo Caccia Vertical Cliffs or for a more relaxed atmosphere, you can swim under the sunset in Baia delle Ninfe. With so much adventure on offer, you’re sure to work up an appetite that can only be satisfied with some of the best Italian infused cuisine provided by many of Alghero’s authentic restaurants.

The Piazza Grande to the Church of Carmel transitions into a theatre with street entertainers and traditional music shows, capturing the authentic atmosphere of the Italian culture. But it doesn’t end there; after a night full of excitement and entertainment, you can take delight in the huge firework display that lights up Piazza Sulis in all of its glory.

When it comes to beaches, you will be spoilt for choice. Venturing out 4 km North-West, you’ll find Fertilia beach, offering picturesque views over the transparent waters and a small shipyard. If you’re one for sandy or pebble stone beaches, this will be the perfect location as Fertilia beach has soft fine sands and rocks that emerge on its outskirts. For those looking for adventure, take to the sea to enjoy diving and boat excursions.

Another beach located just north of Alghero is Lido beach. With its long stretch of sands, you can enjoy the views of the Marina di Sant’Elmo harbour and to the south is a small island named Isola della Maddalenetta. This stunning destination is a favourite among both tourists and locals. A particularly attractive beach, you can easily reach both the marina and the Old Town along the Via Lido either on foot or for those wanting a little more adventure by bicycle. Either way, you’ll get to admire the scenery provided by the natural beauty of Alghero.
