Ajman’s history dates back to 3000 BC, discovered by the many archaeological remains that can be found throughout the emirate. It is thought that Ajman’s modern-day history dates back to 1810, thanks to the Al Nuaim tribe who settled along the coast. What clothes should I wear in Ajman?

One of your concerns on a holiday to the UAE may be what type of clothing you should wear. When at the beach or poolside, swimwear is acceptable. However, when in public places you are expected to dress more modestly. That includes covering your legs and shoulders and not wearing revealing clothing.

Are displays of public affection allowed?

Certain acts are frowned upon such as kissing and hugging. It is said that married couples holding hands is tolerated but still, all displays of public affection are generally unacceptable.

Is alcohol allowed in Ajman?

Drinking alcohol or being drunk in public is considered an offence in Ajman. However, drinking alcohol is allowed in hotels which have a license.
