How to get there
As Aberdeen International Airport is just 7 miles north-west of the city centre, it is easily reached from the A96 Aberdeen-Inverness road. Simply type the Airport’s postcode (AB21 7DU) into your satellite navigation system and follow the directions. If you are simply dropping off or picking up someone from the airport, the Short Stay Car Park is right next to the terminal building.
Regular bus services run between the Airport and Aberdeen city centre which is quite convenient as they usually take around 30 minutes (naturally, this also depends on traffic). If that’s your choice of transportation back home, once you arrive at the airport just follow the signs to the bus stop – it is right outside Aberdeen Airport. A bigger bus station that operates services to long haul destinations can be reached from the airport with a bus or taxi. This is Guild Street bus station and it is located in central Aberdeen. So, Jet Service 727 runs seven days a week between Aberdeen Airport and Aberdeen Bus Station: the earliest service on weekdays is at 04:30 (05:30 on weekends).
Alternatively, if you prefer to count on the trains, the nearest railway station is at Dyce and it can be reached with a taxi or bus. Service 80 links the Scotrail train service with Aberdeen Airport, the heliport and Kirkhill Industrial Estate, and operates from 06:30 to 18:30 Monday - Friday. Aberdeen rail station, on the other hand, is in the city centre and runs services to major cities across the UK, there is a train service connecting Dyce and Aberdeen railway stations!
