In order to get going on holidays as stress free and enjoyable as possible, we have compiled a list of commonly asked questions our customers want answer to.

Is it possible to change a name on my booking?

We understand that sometimes circumstances may change and you or someone in your party will need to make a change to the holiday booking.

If a member of your party is unable to travel, it may be more cost effective for you to simply change a name, if another friend or family member can travel in their place, rather than incur cancellation charges that may occur, especially as you get closer to the departure point. In the majority of cases, name changes can be processed quickly prior to your date of travel.

*Please note, amendments can only be requested by the lead passenger unless authority has been given by the lead passenger. This can be done by logging in to our Manage My Booking tool. Here you can also see the estimated costs for this amendment by both your Service Provider and loveholidays. Once you have submitted your name change request, please allow up to 72 hours for a response regarding the next steps as well as any additional costs if there are such.

If you made a hotel and flight booking, any changes in name must be made through your airline provider. Please note, you may need your airline reference number, which can be found on your booking confirmation email.

There may be an amendment fee applicable along with any charges imposed by the accommodation and flight provider.

In some cases, if you have checked in online for your flight, it may not be possible to amend your flight ticket. If you have noticed a name spelling error on your tickets, please note that some airlines may choose to charge to change this. Generally for minor errors made during name entry, the airlines may have some flexibility on the charge. See name corrections below:

Name corrections

If your ticket's name is not identical to your ticket, minor name corrections (as described below) may or may not be allowed by the airlines, depending upon their policies. Please note we cannot guarantee that the airline will not charge for this.

  1. Nickname (ie: Alex instead of Alexander)
  2. Titles or initials (ie: Mr. Kevin M. Smith instead of Dr. Kevin N. Smith)
  3. Accidental misspellings affecting only a few characters (ie: Steve Jones instead of Steven Jones)
  4. Transposed or reversed names (ie: Francis Kent instead of Kent Francis) booking conditions apply and further details regarding amendment and cancellation charges can be found here. Whereby is acting as an agent for another tour operator, their booking conditions will also be applicable.
