    Top 10 LGBTQ Friendly Destinations

Planning on partying hard this summer? We’ve got the lowdown on the world’s top 10 LGBTQ friendly destinations right here! Whether you want a beach break or a city break, we’ll help you find the ideal holiday spot for you.

    Sitges

Pretty whitewashed Sitges has become a gay mecca, famous for its fantastic Carnival parades, gorgeous beaches and wild nightlife. Chill out on clifftop beach bars, browse through the stylish little shops and boutiques, and soak up the views from the terrace of one of the countless waterfront bars before hitting the beach clubs.

    Mykonos

Nowhere beats Mykonos for 24/7 partying! This gorgeous Greek Island has long been one of the most welcoming for LGBTQ travellers, with a great choice of accommodation, stunning beaches, and, of course, some of the best nightlife on the Med!

    Maspalomas

Maspalomas is one of the largest and most vibrant resorts on Gran Canaria, which boasts year-round sunshine and a fantastic choice of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs. The beaches are truly spectacular, particularly the ones strung out along the celebrated Maspalomas Dunes.

    Ibiza

Ibiza is one of the most popular LGBTQ party destinations on the planet, home to spectacular mega clubs and some of the most luxurious and glamorous parties around! The whole island is laid-back and welcoming of all travellers, whether LGBTQ or straight, but popular places to base yourself include Playa d’en Bossa and Figueretas, which are both handy for accessing beautiful Ibiza Town and its lush shops and restaurants.

    Skiathos

Skiathos is a blissful Greek Island that has largely stayed under the radar. It’s beautiful, relaxing and offers a tranquil alternative to the giddy Mediterranean fleshpots – although you won’t be bored on Skiathos! It’s more ‘LGBTQ-friendly’ rather than an exclusively gay destination, but everyone’s welcome and you’ll find truly breathtaking beaches, plus plenty of bars and clubs in cosmopolitan Skiathos Town.

    New York

New York City has one of the biggest LGBTQ populations anywhere, and the ‘city that never sleeps’ will whisk you off your feet with its world-class shopping, dining, arts scene, bars and clubs. Come for Pride, one of the biggest rainbow celebrations on the planet, or to hit the beaches on Fire Island – but whenever you come, you’ll have a gay old time, with LFBTQ events and parties all over the city every day of the year.

    Madrid

Madrileños are known as ‘gatos’ (which means cats) because of their love of nightlife, and the Spanish capital boasts a crazy party scene. Most of the LGBTQ action in this sun-drenched and welcoming city is found in the Chueca neighbourhood, where you’ll find chic shops, tapas bars and a massive array of bars and clubs.

    Lisbon

Lisbon is another fantastic LGBTQ-friendly destination for a city break. The city is very chilled and welcomes visitors of every kind with open arms. The main neighbourhood for the gay scene is Príncipe Real, with plenty more LGBTQ venues in the Bairro Alto. The beaches are just a short hop away on the train if you fancy soaking up some sun: the most famous gay beach is Beach No.19 on the Costa da Caparica.

    Amsterdam

The Netherlands was the first country in the world to legalise gay marriage and Amsterdam, its gorgeous capital, has long been renowned for its tolerance and acceptance of diversity. It’s the perfect place for a city break, whether you just want to chill out, shop, or take in some of the wild nightlife. The epicentre of the gay scene is Reguliersdwarsstraat, which is packed with gay bars, but there are LGBTQ-friendly bars and clubs across the city.

    Miami

Sun-drenched and uber-glam, Miami is the place to head if you want to see and be seen. South Beach is where the action is found, with the area’s gorgeous Art Deco architecture providing a suitably cinematic backdrop to the endless ebb and flow of beautiful people.
