    Sri Lanka

    Located just off the coast of southern India, Sri Lanka is surrounded by the Indian Ocean. The island has a variety of landscapes for visitors to enjoy, from sandy beaches and bays to national parks and rainforests. It truly is the perfect destination for lovers of the outdoors. Plus, you can get up close and personal with a range of wildlife. Head to Uda Walawe National Park to visit the elephants wandering about. Catch a glimpse of the leopards in Yala National Park or make your way to Dondra to discover blue whales passing by. If you’re interested in seeing some of the island’s top sights, head up to the World Heritage Site of Sigiriya. Featuring a fortress on top of a rock, this site dates back to the 5th century AD.

    With tourism a growing industry in Sri Lanka, there is heap of things to see and do! The country has invested in the sector by creating eco-friendly accommodation as well as a range of general hotel options. Aside from exploring the fascinating wildlife of Sri Lanka, one of its biggest attractions are its watersports. In fact, its surf scene has been making waves!     With plenty to explore in the USA, it can be hard to decide on the best American destination for you. But for a 2020 holiday we suggest heading to America’s south, to the sunny state of Florida. Spend the day strolling along Miami Beach’s sandy shoreline as you soak up the sunshine. In the evenings head out on the town with a visit to one of the city’s many lively nightlife spots. The great thing about Miami is that it experiences warm weather throughout the year compared to the rest of the USA, making it a great winter sun destination.

    Aside from beaches and clubs, Miami has a whole host of things to be excited about. Interested in art? Visit the Art Deco Historic District. Although located in Miami Beach, this area has a unique architectural chic which stands out from the rest. Expect pastel-coloured buildings and huge neon signs. But for those who love the outdoors, the Everglades National Park is a must-see. Florida is known for its swamplands and a trip here will let you see them first hand, along with crocodiles, alligators and birds.

    Marrakech, Morocco

    Marrakech is the perfect destination for a city break outside of Europe, but close to home. A 3 hour 35-minute flight away, Morocco’s busy city exudes its strong culture throughout. Picturesque mosques and palaces make for ultimate sightseeing opportunities, whilst the Medina highlights traces of the city’s past. Roam around the dynamic souks which sell everything from clothing and leather to jewellery and pottery for an authentic experience. Plus, you can’t leave without visiting the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque. Boasting intricate detail on its exterior as well as surrounding gardens, the mosque remains one of the top highlights of Marrakech.

    All the action takes place in Jemaa el-Fnaa located in the centre of the Medina. Why does it attract so many people? Well, it’s safe to say it’s the beating heart of Marrakech. Although it’s a huge tourist attraction it also shows off the everyday life of the city’s locals. Entertainers roam the streets trying to grab your attention whilst snake charmers show off their skills to small crowds. On the other hand, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the square’s many food stalls. Then, end the day at one of Marrakech’s rooftop bars as you watch the striking sunset over the city.

    Croatia is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in Europe and there’s no mystery around it. A country which has the best of both worlds when it comes to beaches and cities, Croatia should definitely be on your list for 2020 if you haven’t made that trip yet. Wander around the historic town of Dubrovnik, contained by stone walls dating back to the 16th century. Discover Gothic and baroque inspired architecture and learn even more about this wonderful city thanks to its history museums. What’s more, Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast and Istrian Riviera are perfect for beach lovers.

    Split, Pula and Hvar have some of the best beaches to be found in Croatia. Although there are many pebble beaches, there is the odd few sandy beaches like Bacvice Beach. Aside from pebbles, Croatia has crystal-clear waters which are also shallow making the beach a haven for family holidays. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous head out on a boat to the island of Hvar which has loads of picturesque little beaches to enjoy. Have a go at snorkelling or simply lay back and soak up the sun. So, whether you’re looking for a historical retreat, a beach getaway, or both, Croatia is one destination not to miss in 2020.
