    Halloween is quickly approaching… It’s time to dress up, take the kids trick or treating and enjoy a night carving portraits into pumpkins. Aside from the usual orange and black decorations and costumes, you might be looking for something a little different this Halloween.     Mexico

    Mexico has been known to be a top destination when it comes to Halloween. Specifically, for its Day of the Dead celebrations which occur shortly after Halloween on 2nd November. Halloween in Mexico is hailed as a children’s event, with the Day of the Dead being the main attraction a couple of days after. Mexico’s Day of the Dead tradition looks to bring people and communities together in order to celebrate the lives of those that have passed away. However, it’s not all doom and gloom as it may sound. In fact, the streets are bursting with people, parades and colourful decoration. Stalls sell sugar skulls and altar ornaments, whilst others paint bright, multicoloured skulls on their faces.

    New Orleans, USA

    Another long-haul destination that is worth visiting for Halloween is the USA’s New Orleans. Known for its famous Mardi Gras parades and celebrations, New Orleans keeps up the show for Halloween too. The city puts on a Halloween parade down Bourbon Street boasting thoughtful costumes and a variety of colours. Attracting a huge number of visitors from all over the world, the parade features towering puppets, dancers and numerous costumes.
