5 reasons you should visit Benidorm

A popular destination with Brits, Benidorm holidays have long been a firm favourite. Situated along the Costa Blanca, this seaside resort packs a punch. Think sun, sand and sangria… these are just a few reasons why Benidorm should be your next holiday destination.

    1. It’s a sunny alternative to the UK

If we’re pitting the UK against Benidorm, then the Spanish resort clearly wins when it comes to weather. In August, Benidorm experiences an average of 31°C and in the winter months you can expect it to be 16°C or higher. Which keeps everyone coming back to Benidorm, even for the Christmas holidays. Nobody wants to miss out on a sunny break and as Benidorm is close to home, you’re never too far away from that warm getaway.

    2. The Mediterranean beaches

Dreaming of white sands and crystal-clear waters? Well, that’s exactly what Benidorm has in store for you. You’ll get to visit all the big resort beaches like Poniente and Levante beaches which are constantly buzzing and always fun. Plus, there’re smaller, quieter coves to explore like Almadrava and Tio Ximo. We can’t forget to mention that if the beaches in Benidorm are the main attraction for you, there are loads of great hotels nearby, so the resort’s sandy shores will virtually be on your doorstep.

    3. It’s a great family-friendly destination filled with loads of activities

Aside from the beaches, there’s still plenty to do in Benidorm. Especially for families! Enjoy a visit to top attractions like Mundomar, an animal park including everything from mammals to birds. The kids will also love Aqualandia, a water park with whizzing slides and so much more. Or Aqua Natura, a Greek-inspired theme park with a wave pool, waterslides, shops and places to eat. Perfect for cooling off from Benidorm’s extra hot days. There’s also Terra Mitica, a fun theme park that families love. It even features Europe’s longest wooden roller coaster. Plus, don’t miss out on Terra Natura, an animal park featuring around 1,500 animals and 200 different species, including Asiatic elephants and lions. On top of that, Benidorm has implemented health and safety measures during the Covid-19 pandemic to help you and your family feel safe. From social distancing to reduced capacity in busy areas like these theme parks – you don’t need to worry.

    4. You can tuck into tapas – the best way to dine in Benidorm

When in Spain… eat like the Spaniards do. You’ll find a bunch of tapas restaurants during your Benidorm holiday, which boast scrumptious flavours and an attractive price tag to match. You can get loads of different food which are served in small portions. So, essentially tapas allows you to try a bit of everything, all for a pretty cheap price. Order a bit of paella, with some patatas bravas, maybe some gambas al pil pil (chili and garlic prawns)… And if you consider yourself a fussy eater, not to worry, there are many restaurants that’ll cater to everyone’s tastes.

    5. Benidorm has excellent nightlife too

Another reason to visit Benidorm is because the fun doesn’t stop once the sun goes down. It carries on well into the early hours of the morning. There’s a range of nightlife venues including modern nightclubs to karaoke bars. You’ll find the majority of these fun get ups around the Levante Beach promenade, the old town and the Rincon de Loix area. Quite simply, Benidorm’s nightlife has something for everyone to enjoy. You’ll even find family-friendly pubs which will cater to the kids too.
