With so many amazing destinations to visit, narrowing your choices down to just one will be difficult. Here are just some great recommendations:

Art and music awaits in Gran Canaria

June is a popular time of year to visit Gran Canaria. The Canary island has been a well-established hotspot for British tourists for a number of years now and the summer is a fantastic time to experience its many delights.

Although it falsely has a reputation for being nothing more than a beach resort, the island is brimming with great events next month. Iconic British musician Elvis Costello will be visiting the Auditorio Kursaal on June 6th, where he will be playing a mix of his greatest hits such as ‘Allison’ and ‘Oliver’s Army’.

The Fiestas Fundacionales also take place in June. These events celebrate the establishment of Gran Canaria and create a jovial mood around the island, with many performing arts events and concerts taking place.

As well as this, the Playa del Ingles and Playa de las Canteras beaches both sparkle in the summer sun and are great places to relax and get away from it all.

Historic architecture and live music lined up in Lisbon

With an amazing atmosphere that combines city attractions with awesome beaches and beautiful weather, it’s no surprise that Lisbon is top of the list for many travellers when June comes by.

All of the destination’s top attractions look even more appealing in the summer heat, but there are also plenty of unique events coming to the location across the month. British travellers could be particularly interested in Il Divo’s appearance at the MEO Arena on June 12th, when the quartet will be performing their biggest covers and original hits.

Lisbon’s spectacular architecture looks especially attractive in the June weather, with sites such as Jeronimos Monastery providing amazing views across the city and some incredible photo opportunities.

See football legends and more in Madrid

Madrid is already full of fantastic architecture, warm weather and awesome food, what more could you ask for this June? This Spanish city seemingly has it all and there are some fabulous events to top it all of during the month.

The Mad Cool Festival takes place from June 16th-18 at Caja Magica and is headlined by The Who, Stereophonics and The Prodigy. There is an exceptional variety of artists over all three days and the atmosphere is sure to be unforgettable.

If you want to experience some local sounds, Madrid Music Day On June 21st could be particularly appealing as dozens of bands are scheduled to perform across the city’s venues.

It’s not just great music that Madrid has scheduled next month, as the Corazon Classic Match between the Real Madrid and Ajax legends takes place on June 5th at the historic Bernabeu Stadium. Superstars such as David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Figo will take part and all funds will be given to the Caritas programme in order to help the homeless.

Faro meets all of the criteria for the ideal summer holiday and June is a lively time of year for tourists.

One of the biggest events of the month are the Popular Saints Festivals, which celebrate St Anthony, St John and St Peter. Over this time, you can expect a carnival vibe and gain a great insight into the city’s culture.

June is the best time of year to visit the beautiful Ilha Deserta, which is a breathtaking desert island with an absolutely majestic atmosphere. Walking through the area as the sun beams down is like exploring paradise and it’s a great option for a scenic day trip.
