Paris is a great city to visit if you have children; the city is well organised and accommodating to the needs of parents and kids. Dotted around the city are many parks, so the kids can let loose and run around. The south-west corner of the Jardin de Luxembourg offers kids an array of activities to get stuck into. There are pony rides, sailboats for hire, puppet shows, a playground and even a carousel for the little ones to enjoy. Alongside parks, there are some great museums aimed at younger children too including the National History Museum. Once you and the kids have exhausted the city, head over to Disney Land and let your imaginations run wild with the characters from your favourite animations; the perfect end to a perfect holiday in Paris.

Barcelona is oozing with history and exciting things to see and do. Take the kids on a bus tour of the city as it’s the best way for you to see the amazing architecture without tired little feet ruining the day. You can also hop on and off the bus anytime you need to stop for a bite to eat. Rainy days won’t be wasted with a visit to the Aquarium of Barcelona, where you can see 11,000 marine creatures across 35 different tanks; the colourful fish are sure to keep everyone amused for hours. If the kids want to get more involved with the abundance of wildlife found within this area of Spain , visit the city’s zoo where they can enjoy petting the animals at the infant zoo as well as watching some animal displays. Barcelona is a city with more to offer than most; it has a beach. After exploring what the city has to offer, the kids can run about on the sand and splash in the sea to cool off.

    New York

New York has plenty of attractions to keep the kids entertained. Museums like the Children’s Museum of Art and Staten Island Children’s Museum offer plenty of excitement for kids. Also the life-sized dinosaur models at the Museum of Natural History will leave the kids fascinated. Spend the afternoon strolling through Central Park to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The kids can run free and you can sit in the shade and soak up the surroundings. How about catching a show on Broadway? If this is something your kids would enjoy, there are plenty of musicals to choose from including Matilda, the Lion King and Wicked. Accompany this with dinner at the Rainforest Café for a trip to New York your kids will remember forever.

With a city that’s full of pizza and ice cream, what more could your children want?  Although the kids may not be too interested in all the stunning churches and ancient ruins, combine these with delicious pizza and excursions to nearby beaches and your kids will be more than content. Let the kids feel like gladiators for the day with a trip to the Colosseum, followed by a trip to the Vatican to see if the Pope’s in. With gelato stores on every cobbled corner, there’s enough ice cream in Rome to keep everyone happy.

Hopefully there’s enough choice here for you to choose a city break to best suit your family. From beaches and history in Barcelona to the excitement of New York City, where are you planning to take the kids this summer?
