6. It’s home to the oldest rum in the world
The Mount Gay Rum brand has been made on the island since 1703, making it the oldest brand of rum still in production. Head to the visitors centre to see how it’s made and don’t forget to sample it too.
7. It’s a place where monkeys run wild
Aside from serving as a perfect spot for a romantic picnic, Batts Rock Beach is also the local hangout for the island’s Green Monkeys. Keep your eyes peeled and you’ll see these mischievous creatures running along the beach – just keep your eyes on your valuables too!
