Surrounded by swaying palm trees, fine white sand and the blue sea, it’s worth soaking up the views before you take a dip.

    This little Mexican island can be found just off the coast of Cancun. There are many resort hotels on the island, and most importantly, beaches. Playa Norte is perhaps the most popular, providing a lovely beach which is suitable for some family-friendly fun. Many of the beaches on Isla Mujeres allow visitors the chance to scuba dive and snorkel. This provides you the opportunity to admire Mexico’s coral reefs and possibly some sea turtles.

    Playa del Carmen is a lovely beach which provides a great atmosphere. You’ll find wonderful food places, so you won’t run out of options when you’re feeling slightly peckish. For relaxation and sunbathing, Playa del Carmen is a great choice, however, it’s perhaps not the best for swimming as the water can often be a bit rough.

    Zihuatanejo is located just north of Acapulco in Mexico and is well known for its long stretch of clean sandy beach. You’ll find that Playa La Ropa is perhaps the most popular part of Zihuantanejo as it is lined with dozens upon dozens of scenic palm trees. On the other hand, if you’d prefer to get a bit more adventurous on your Mexico holiday, head to the Playa Manzanillo stretch of Zihuantanejo which is the perfect sport for snorkelling.
