Life's a beach
St Spyridon has not one but two sandy beaches for you to unwind on. Both have pristine white sands and warm, shallow waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling. The main beach has been awarded a coveted Blue Flag for cleanliness and boasts gorgeous views of the bay, its tiny rocky island with lighthouse and across to Albania. You’ll find sun loungers, umbrellas and a few water sports on offer, as well as a couple of beach bars and cafés serving drinks and food. The waters are shallow so you can enjoy a scenic paddle that takes you quite far out into the sea. The sands are soft and clean and fringed with fragrant eucalyptus trees for shade. The smaller of St Spyridon’s beaches is a secluded and quiet cove. You’ll find good amenities such as sun loungers and cafes, as well as great access for anyone with mobility issues. It’s a favourite with families and has a fun mini-golf course to keep everyone entertained.
If relaxation and natural beauty are at the top of your getaway requirements, St Spyridon holidays have exactly what you need. You won’t find all-night clubs, but you will find a scenic nature reserve to explore. Take a walk through the reserve and its canals to spot wild flowers, butterflies and a lagoon filled with fishes. Or head up to the hilltop monastery of Agia Ekaterina above the resort. The resort’s other main attraction is Pyramid Adventure Park, where you’ll find a family-friendly place with mini-golf, go-karting and a restaurant boasting fantastic sea views.
St Spyridon is also a great base for exploring the rest of Corfu island and its secluded coves and beaches, like the ones in Kassiopi. You’ll also find vast pine forests, dramatic mountains, historic sites and a wealth of wineries to enjoy. If you’re looking to paint the town red, head to the nearby island capital of Corfu Town, or down to the party centre of the island, Kavos.
