"It’s easy to spend your days in Los Cristianos lying back on the golden sandy beaches and spending the nights eating tapas and drinking cocktails or sangria"
Los Cristianos is one of the most popular resorts in the Canary Islands, and for good reason. Located on the southern coast of Tenerife, Los Cristianos is warm all year round, with winter temperatures averaging 18 degrees, making this the perfect beach holiday for any time of the year. This is an ideal destination for those who enjoy the lazy island life – it’s easy to spend days lying back on the golden sandy beaches and spending the nights eating tapas and drinking cocktails or sangria. Los Cristianos is also a great spot for family holidays, with plenty of things to do to keep the kids entertained. From water sports to dolphin watching to trips into town, you’ll never be at a loss for things to do.
The range of hotels in Los Cristianos is impressive – from low budget to luxury, and hotels to apartments, there’s something to suit everyone. Most come complete with their own private swimming pools and many are only a short walk from the beach – and the beaches here are really something! Soft sands and crystal clear waters are a given, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants along the promenade, perfect for a tasty lunch before heading back to work on your tan. The sea in Los Cristianos is also shallow, so it’s safe for children and non swimmers.
Visit Los Cristianos’ Monkey Park
Perfect for families and animal lovers, the monkey park is a small zoo that hosts a variety of monkeys as well as reptiles, birds and hamsters. You can get up close and personal with some of the animals, which are perfectly well behaved as they eat food right out of your hand. Remember to take a camera – you’ll get some amazing pictures.
Enjoy active holidays in Los Cristianos
There are several scuba diving schools along Tenerife’s south coast, and all are safe, fun and professional, whether you’re an experienced diver or this is your first time. The underwater landscape is beautiful – the waters are clear and you’ll meet a whole host of fish and sea turtles in some of the island’s best dive spots.
If you’d rather stay above the surface, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the number of activities on offer. Take out a kayak with a transparent bottom so you can glimpse the sea life beneath you – and watch out for dolphins, which live around the area. You can also have a go at stand up paddle boarding for something different, or there are boat trips around the coast where you can relax and take in the views while someone else does the steering.
